Hi there fellow students and teachers,
I’m Charlotte and I’m studying a double degree of law/communication and media at UOW.
Today I attended my first BCM lectures and was asked to create a blog outlining a little bit about myself. I am currently in my second year of university having completed my first year of straight law. I have just recently commenced my second year of law and as of today started my first year communication and media subjects.
I decided to study media and communications as I loved writing at school, and have a great interest particularly in the TV and magazine world. I have had some experience in the world of communication and media as I was lucky enough to receive a weeks work experience at Girlfriend Magazine in 2010. Woman’s Day was another magazine that I had the pleasure of being a part of for a week in 2011 of which I was given the opportunity to interview a celeb from the Amazing Race and write my own article! Both weeks gave me just a small insight into the huge realm of communication and media, highlighting that there are so many different ways of getting involved in the industry.
In five years time I’m not 100% sure where I will be but the current dream is to be a TV presenter/host. Obviously a very hard and popular career but I guess if you aim high you can achieve it!
I have never kept a blog before so I am ‘jumping in the deep end’ and trying something new. Stay tuned for some exciting and interesting blogs on the fabulously engaging world of communication and the media. Looking forward to a great year and getting to know fellow students along the way.
